Kit PvP opened today. We had around 40 players participating at the opening, and there's around 20 now, 6 hours later.

We're glad to see how the Kit PvP server turned out. If the popularity continues, we plan to add new kits, maps, and abilities.

Use this thread as an initial discussion for Kit PvP, and please feel free to make any suggestions or report unbalanced/broken kits.

KitPvP is definitely fun! Instead of running around in spawn and doing nothing Ill have something to do :).

Today, MCDrugs first opened up KitPvP and it Seriously needs improvements.

--Kits--

Now, I understand, most of the kits are meant to have a gimicky feel to add more fun (such as the suicide bomber kit). But some kits are absolutely unneccessary for other players and ruins the experience. For example. the Wolf kit, where you summon an army of dogs to fight for you. Now this is severely overpowered because you can literally AFK and let the dogs rack up kills for you, and to top it off, they are invincible and unkillable, which is a real shame. This kit needs MAJOR nerfs, making the dogs killable would be suitable, but I'll leave it up to the makers of KitPvP to do what they need.

--Mechanics--

SoupPvP is fun, but the soups are way overpowered. The soups heal for an overly large amount (I think around Splash Health II) and this makes it very difficult to finish kills on players. Now, some might argue that Splash Health II's are already in the game and they do the same amount, but strategy is required with Splash Health, you first have to splash it in front of you which can fail and plus you might not get all the health from it. So what I'm trying to say here, you need to nerf the soup because you can instant eat it and you are given a full inventory of it with the basic kit, and having someone constantly spam soup while you are hitting them with perfectly good shots and have them still survive is so annoying and frustrating and makes me want to stop playing.

--Small Suggestions--

I have one small suggestion and it is to make the Archer kit free. Some may prefer the long ranged PvP style and if they log onto and find jus ONE free kit they will be turned off of the server and just leave it. This doesn't have to be done because it is already quite cheap as it is, but it would be a good improvement.

--Conclusion--

In conclusion, KitPvP may just be a new gamemode and this is why it has many flaws, but I wanted to bring attention to some of the most frustrating ones that I have found so far. Thank you for reading.

Oli I put it in here for more people to notice and see, since they won't be paying attention to other KitPvP threads that are not in this one. Just ignore my post and move on.
That is not true, we look at all threads on the forums.

I would like to say, that the kit PvP is an incredible server. A lovely map too! I really enjoyed playing last night with all the people. I also did some recording which I will share with people on the fourm later. Thank you for setting up this KitPvP server ☺ I suggest to add events every week? So the server will gain popularity as you can't beat a populated kitpvp server in my opinion. I believe it has improved my 1.9 PvP skills.

Many of the kits are fine. I was not aware that wolves could not be killed, that was not intended and has been fixed. There's really not any major problems with other kits. Many that have "overpower" abilities can be countered quite easily. We are constantly making small tweaks to kits, though (such as changing the Suicide Bomber kit from full leather armour to only the helmet).

Soup healing is the essence of KitPvP. It's one of the factors that makes KitPvP actually require skill; souping is a skill that can be mastered, and when you do, it makes a big difference in the outcome of your fights. New players who don't know how to properly soup are an easy kill. I have fought people using the Vanilla kit, which gives them healing potions, the solution that you describe would be ideal, and the fights are so quick. Soup healing kinda simulates the use of golden apples, etc. in "normal" PvP. With the average tier of gear for the kits, soup healing makes the most sense.

The archer kit is the cheapest kit, as you said, at only 250 coins, that's only 25 kills. We want to keep the majority of players using the default kit, with the goal of unlocking new ones, so that there's some sort of progression to the server.

Another suggestion I would have would be to add a leaderboard system to see who is at the top of the PvP Charts, this would give players an incentive to PvP more so they could see themselves at the top, and also give potentional rewards to those players. Also, will there be a 1v1 system added?

This kit is falsely labeled, you do not get the bow, you should probably either edit the text or add the bow.
