Loading Terrain, Timed Out. CANT JOIN

I've been playing for a while now. Just today when I tried to join I get stuck on loading terrain for a couple minutes, and then I time out and have to try again. I have reinstalled minecraft, restarted my computer, restarted my router and modem, installed my latest graphics drivers, and messed with every minecraft setting I can think to. Can anyone please help

It's probably the lag. Try using Optifine to help with it and also, when your chunks aren't loading properly, press F3+A.

If we can find out your ping to the server, we can identify it its a server connection issue or a computer issue.


For Windows:

1) Open up your command prompt. For Windows 10, navigate to your Cortana search bar..

and type in "Command Prompt". You should be greeted with this:

2) With your command prompt open, enter the command "ping play.mc-drugs.com" into your terminal.

Your terminal should return with 4 pings to the server before completing its test. You're looking for the "time=x-ms" argument.

Please give me this number and we can go from there. Thank you for your cooperation!

Oh yeah, you can just hover over the wireless signal looking thing in the minecraft server select page to find it aswell.

My ping is 42 ms. I have had no trouble connecting to this server in the past. It is definitely my network that is the issue, I opened a wifi hotspot on my phone and was able to join the server by connecting my computer to that, but I want to be able to use my in home wifi, any ideas?

Have you checked if your firewall has Minecraft closed off?

I haven't but I can connect to other servers just fine
