The pit has been open for a couple days now, and we hope everyone has had a chance to try it out.

Please leave any feedback about the pit here. This could be suggestions for new bosses, mobs, changes to current mobs/bosses (their health, damage, speed, armour/weapons, abilities, etc.).

All feedback is appreciated and we will try to reply to all suggestions with our thoughts.

Bosses

  • Slime King Boss added
  • Pit Brawler - New Ability: Hook. If there are no players within 6 blocks of the Pit Brawler, it will "hook" all players within 20 blocks, teleporting them to him.
  • General balances to most bosses (changes to HP, armour, etc) based on player feedback
  • Added more resistance to gun damage to most bosses
Mobs
  • Added "Slime Ball" mob, which spawns the King Slime
Drops
  • All mobs now have a chance to drop 1-3 steak.
  • All mobs have a very small (<1%) chance to drop a boss soul.
  • All mobs have a 5% chance to drop a Pit Item Repairer, which can be used one time to repair all items in the inventory.

Bosses

  • Slightly reduced armour and attack damage of Pit Brawler boss
  • Increased Pit Brawler's hook cooldown to 10 seconds

All mobs now have a chance to drop 1-3 steak.
I love the steak, great addition. A small thing to make this even better in my opinion, add a small chance (maybe 10%) for mobs to drop steak and/or golden apples

I feel like the spawning of the bosses down within the chasm itself is very low making it almost a waste of time to attempt to spawn the bosses.
On land you can be there for a minute and have a boss spawn, There's always a rotation of bosses on land where as within the chasm you can run around for 5 to 15mins and have no spawn despite how many mobs you kill.
The pve content is very fun and there's always action going around, can't wait to see more bosses/mobs be added, perhaps bosses can spawn further within the pit itself so people have to travel to different sections in order to spawn certain bosses with maybe a mega boss appearance.

Mobs:

  • New Mob: Pit Kitten. Baby cat with stats similar to pit rats, has a chance to spawn the Pit Tiger when it is killed. Similar drops to other mobs.
  • Now have a 3-6% chance of repairing all your items and armour when killed (this also repair guns, which change their model, but they still work).
  • Now have a chance to drop golden apples. Surface mobs have a 6% chance, Depths mobs have a 10% chance.

Bosses:
  • New Boss: Pit Tiger. Easy (for the moment) boss with two unique abilities - Pounce (jumps to target and does splash damage) and Cloak (goes invisible and gets faster for a couple seconds). No unique drop yet, one will be added when it is balanced.
  • Now have a 25-35% chance of repairing all your items and armour when killed, based on boss difficulty.
  • Slight increase in spawn rates of Famine. Pit Summoner, King Slime, and Goliath bosses.
  • All bosses now have a chance to drop 0-6 golden apples on death. Higher difficulty bosses likely to drop more.
  • King Slime boss moved from medium difficulty to easy.

Environment
  • Drained most of the lava rivers, as mobs and bosses would fall into them and not be able to get, making them too easy to kill.

It would be cool to see more mobs around and maybe a new thread where people can post ideas about new mobs and bosses.
The new mob is a bit overpower and you cant hit it maybe less speed or less health would make it better.
The boss spawn rates are a bit too low sometimes in a hour pit only 5-10 bosses spawn and same people get the souls so most people don't get anything at all

Loving the new updates to the pit, but there are a few things I think could be changed. First off, make the spawn rate for the Pit Tiger lower, as it has been spawning much more than any other bosses. A bug with the Tiger is a broken chat message, where it says the Goliath has summoned all mobs around you whenever the Tiger is around, even when there isn't a goliath

You're already in that thread. As for the new boss, it was just added today so it will be balanced as we receive more feedback about it. Boss spawn rates are pretty solid right now in my opinion, there's never more than a few minutes without a boss.

Pit Tiger spawnrate is the same as other surface mobs, it's likely just people targetting Pit Kittens more than other mobs that makes it feel like the spawn rate is higher. The chat mesage has been fixed, thanks.

A small addition to this, but probably wouldn't be needed, add a small chance for Bosses to drop super apples too. Higher tier the boss, higher chance

I feel that the Pit Brawler should be changed, either by giving him a lower health, weaker armor, or changing him from "easy" to "normal" (so he drops more souls) and there are a few reasons for this change
  1. Out of all the bosses, the brawler takes the longest to kill
  2. Some people have been simply avoiding brawlers because they take so long to kill compared to the low drop amount
  3. Including the chasm bosses, the brawler is one of the, if not the hardest to solo fight because of the high damage, high armor, and hook ability

  • "Ground slam" area of effect damage ability added to Brawler; will now do damage to players within a few blocks occasionally.

  • Brawler speed and damage slightly reduced to bring it more in-line with Easy bosses.
  • King Slime slightly smaller to reduce hitbox size.
  • King Slime Consume Ability Added
    • King Slime jumps into the air and spawns slime chunk mobs.
    • After a few seconds, any living slime chunks are absorbed back into the King Slime, regenerating its health.
  • Wildfire health increased by 50
  • Wildfire Fireball Barrage ability cooldown decreased
  • Wildfire teleport ability added - will repeatedly teleport around the player for a few seconds, doing a bit of damage.

The Pit has been overhauled to make it more welcoming to new players and players who don't have high-end gear!

Check out The Pit at /warp pit

The surface of The Pit has been split into two sections: an easier section closer to the entrance, and the normal difficulty area farther back, behind the entrance to The Chasm.

This easy area has weakened variants of the normal mobs, including Weak The Scorched, Crippled Pit Kittens, and Baby Slime Balls. Each of these mobs has a weakened "mini-boss" variant of their respective bosses, the Mini Pit Brawler, Pit Cat, and Slime Prince.

These weak mobs and mini-bosses drop up to seven Boss Soul Fragments, 30 soul fragments can be traded in for one Boss Soul. However, it is not only Boss Souls that Fragments are useful for; protection 4, unbreaking 3 diamond armour and sharpness 5, unbreaking 3 diamond swords can be purchased using soul fragments.

Our intention with this overhaul is to give players who would normally not be able to fight in the normal difficulty area of the pit, due to the difficult or lack of appropriate gear, a chance to work their way up. Newer players can now enjoy an easier and more fitting section of the pit in which they can still grind for rewards, and these rewards will help them enter into the normal difficult section of the pit.

The Chasm/Depths has not been changed at all by this overhaul, however we will be working on improving it, as well as adding new mobs and bosses to every section of The Pit, very soon.

The Pit is a PvE/PvP experience exclusive to MCDrugs.

You can get to the pit by doing /warp pit ingame.

Here's how it works:
  • Mobs spawn in The Pit, the types of mobs depends on which section of the pit you're in. See more information about the different sections below.
  • Kill the mobs for a chance (2-4% for normal mobs, 6-10% for weakened mobs) of spawning a boss. Mobs also have a small chance to drop food, gold apples, and, very rarely, a boss soul.
  • Kill these bosses and you will receive boss souls, which can be used in /bshop for exclusive Pit rewards, including keys for crates that you can only get from The Pit.

The Pit is mostly player-versus-environment, with mobs and bosses to fight. The Pit is roughly split into three sections: the Easy Surface, the Normal Surface, and The Chasm.


The Easy Surface

The Easy Surface is the area directly out of the entrance to The Pit (/warp pit) to the Chasm entrance and bridges to the Normal Surface (there's signs warning you when you're about to enter a different area). Weakened versions of the Normal Surface mobs and bosses. This area is intended for newer players and players have lower-level gear or want a more casual experience. However, the rewards in this section are not as valuable as in the other sections.

Mobs found at the Easy Surface:
  • Weakened The Scorched
  • Baby Slime Ball
  • Crippled Pit Kitten
Easy Surface mobs are much weaker and easier to kill than Normal Surface mobs. This make the Easy Surface good area for new players to grind the gear and skills to venture deeper into The Pit.

Bosses available at the Easy Surface:
  • Baby Pit Brawler Mini-Boss
  • Slime Prince Mini-Boss
  • Pit Cat Mini-Boss
These Mini-Bosses are similar to normal bosses, but are much easier. They're intended to give a sample of what the normal boss fights are like, so they are good for players that are less experienced in The Pit. Unlike normal bosses, mini-bosses drop Boss Soul Fragments, which can also be used in/bshop, where you can purchase useful gear that will be helpful for going deeper into The Pit.


The Normal Surface

The Normal Surface is the area of The Pit beyond the bridges. The Normal Surface is the intended Pit experience - while it can be quite difficult for less-experienced or less-geared players, it does not have PvP, and offers the chance to get boss souls. It's recommended that you acquire atleast protection 3 armour and a decent sword (the Mob Overkiller is very useful) before beginning in this part of The Pit.

Mobs found at the Normal Surface:
  • The Scorched
  • Slime Ball
  • Pit Kitten
  • Pit Rat

Bosses available at the Easy Surface:
  • Pit Brawler Boss
  • King Slime Boss
  • Pit Tiger Boss
  • Goliath Boss
These bosses have quite a bit more health than the Easy Surface bosses, and have special abilities that are more powerful and occur more often. It is recommended to team up to kill these bosses.


The Chasm

The Chasm is where the most experienced players usually go - it has PvP enabled and much harder mobs and bosses.

Mobs found in The Chasm:
  • Depth Rat
  • Depth Floater

Bosses available in The Chasm:
  • Pit Summoner Boss
  • Famine Boss

As much as I love the pit, there are some flaws I see with the bosses. With the addition of the area for new players, and how many bosses got buffed... the divide seems to be too high. The bosses in the back/normal area of the pit are extremely hard, and I know it's not meant to be a walk in the park, but between needing a team to kill some of them, and the low amount of drops, it's simply not worth it to go back there. The chasm is a lot easier than the back area and gives more drops. The famine is easily solo killed compared to any of the normal bosses and in a lot shorter time too. With 3 people it was harder to kill a king slime than for either of us to solo a famine. The new area is simply too easy to get souls, with 30 minutes in the pit I can get roughly 3 souls worth of fragments, or go to the back and get 1-2 all while having harder fights. I suggest making it so it costs more than 30 fragments per soul, or making it so bosses drop fewer fragments, nerf some of the bosses in the back to equal out the difference from new -> normal, and possibly make it so the Famine spawns 4 bosses instead of 1 (Death, War, Famine, Plague) and each drop 1 soul on death to make the famine 4x harder and gives the same drops, making it so it's a lot harder, or impossible to solo kill as the chasm should be.

Bosses:

  • Balanced boss health in Normal Surface and Chasm - HP decreased across all normal surface bosses, increased for both chasm bosses.
  • Lowered amount of boss soul fragments dropped by easy surface mini-bosses from 3-5 to 2-4.

I will agree with puppy that its not worth it to go to normal area since in a hour pit you will only spawn 1-2 bosses which are very strong and hard to kill, and really easy to kill you, i think how it is supposed to be is you kill bosses you buy armor so you can go back to get better loot, but even people with op armor don't anymore, chasm is better but its not for everyone since there is pvp there and most people avoid it. Also the fact that people dont usually go back and its extremely hard to kill bosses by your self (brawler 2 shoted me when i just had a golden apple, and pit tiger hits 6 hearts at once and you barely have time to recover health before the next hit in p4) i dont know about the rest mobs cause the 5 hours pit i have been after the easy area was added i only spawned those two in 5 hours pit . I don't believe its really worthy to go 1 hour in the pit for 2-5 souls and for players that farm souls alone or cant go to chasm its really hard to get souls and i don't believe its that fun either

Mobs:

  • Depth Floater replaced by Chasm Stray, due to Depth Floaters being able to escape the pit.
  • Chasm Spider health increased from 30 to 80
  • Chasm Spider damage increased from 4 to 6
  • Depth Rat knockback resistance increased from 0.1 to 0.5
  • Depth Rat movement speed increased from 0.33 to 0.35
  • Decreased mini-boss spawn rate when killing weak mobs by 1%-3% across all weak mobs.
  • Increased surface boss spawn rate when killing normal mobs by 1% across all normal mobs.
  • Decreased chance of weak mobs dropping boss soul fragments by 4% across all weak mobs.

Bosses:
  • Added chance for more Boss Soul drops among all Normal Surface and Chasm bosses
    • Two 20% rolls to drop an extra Boss Soul each from easy bosses.
    • Two 30% rolls to drop an extra Boss Soul each from medium bosses.
    • Two 40% rolls to drop an extra Boss Soul each from hard bosses.
  • Famine's Horse knockback resistance increased from 0.25 to 0.9
  • Pit Brawler base damage decreased from 5 to 3
  • Pit Brawler base armour decreased from 8 to 5
  • Pit Cat base damage decreased from 5 to 4

Boss Soul Shop:
  • Boss Soul price increased from 30 to 35 Boss Soul Fragments.

These changes were intended to make the Easy Surface less valuable for higher ranked players, while making the Normal Surface and Chasm more desirable than the Easy Surface. The difficulty of the Chasm has been slightly increased to keep it balanced with the higher Soul drops by the bosses.
