Rewards after reset

Add reset rewards?

Hey, this is my 1st thread and I really think this is a good idea, so hear me out :D
I think that players should receive a reward after each reset based on how many prestiges they did in the last "season" of sorts. For example, each prestige could add something to the reward pool - so a Prestige I gets a Prestige 1 reward, a Prestige 2 gets a Prestige 1 reward and a Prestige 2 reward, and so on. This is minimised to only prestiging as players who do not get this far probably do not put enough effort or time in and as such should probably not receive a reward.

I think this would be a good idea as players like me who work hard and try their best are discouraged by the fact that in a years time, all of their effort will be destroyed with no reward.

I'm not saying experienced players should have an advantage in any way, I appreciate the resets allow new players to catch up, but at least put something cosmetic in yknow? I would really like to know if this is achievable, and if not, why?

I like the cosmetic idea, maybe instead of a reward based off regular drug ranks we could base it off prestige level as prestiging takes actual effort

That's an interesting point, but I think regular drug ranks should get them too, just nothing spectacular until prestige - that way people who don't quite have enough time on their hands to get as far as prestiging don't feel left out.

We should make them left out imo, makes more incentive for people to prestige, and it doesn't take very much time to prestige with a big enough farm.

I see where you're coming from, and actually now I think about it this would probably be a better idea as if you don't have enough time on your hands you shouldn't be given the better rewards. So from now on yeah, prestiging reset rewards I guess.

We get this suggestion very often. The reason we often don't do something like this is simply because we're so busy with all that goes on with the new map. We usually redesign the server from the bottom up, and something like this can only be done by the three high staff - and we have our schedules full with our current plans for next map.

We will be doing the "Munchies" again, for this map - to recognize player achievements during the map.

I would disagree that it is disheartening for players to lose their "progress" after a year. The vast majority of the players who join the server play for a few days to a few weeks, and by the end of the map the players who played for the full cycle of the map can't wait for the reset to come.

When you're in the mind set of progress not being permanent, everything becomes meaningless. How long exactly would you need to be able to keep your progress for you to not feel you require a reward on reset, two years, three? In the end, the reset is always good - except for players who joined <3 weeks before.

Also, we really don't like to look at MCDrugs as "seasons" like most other drug servers past and present have seemed to do. We think this mindset is very lazy. We have always and will always continue to try to reinvent MCDrugs for each map cycle. In my opinion, this is one of the major reasons that MCDrugs has been so successful as we have never allowed it to stagnate, which is what having seasons allows for.

I agree with Spalw. You've got to realize that the point of the reset is to level the playing field, causing every player to have to completely start over. Having any advantage whatsoever for higher ranked players would make the reset pointless. I'd have agreed with this if you'd asked me on my first MCD map, but trust me here. It's better this way.

I agree, which is why the rewards should be full cosmetic and nothing more

Then actually read my post.
I have, and fair enough with the time schedule thing, that's completely understandable, but I think if you asked members, they would probably prefer getting a cosmetic reward based on their progress.
