I did some statistics with how nether wart harvests work with fortune 3, and here are my results for average nether wart harvest using a fortune 3 tool:

Results calculated before replanting

Wart farmed on 64 x 3 rows of farm (I receieved 869 wart after farming one row of 64x3)

Harvest 1: 869 wart
Harvest 2: 841 wart
harvest 3: 839 wart
Harvest 4: 900 wart
Harvest 5: 924 wart
Harvest 6: 918 wart
Harvest 7: 871 wart
Harvest 8: 810 wart
Harvest 9: 828 wart
Harvest 10: 877 wart

Average wart: 867.7

Adjusted for double drop chance: 608.656 wart (dividing by current mcmmo double drop: 42.67% (Every 1% increase in double drop increases average harvest by .01 nether wart, obviously, so 1% double drop = divide by 1.01, 40% double drop = divide by 1.4))

Average wart per harvest with 0 double drop: 3.17 (Dividing by 64 x 3)

Average wart with double drop chance 100%: 6.34

Results have room for error due to low sample size / possibly some nether warts weren't planted in my farm that I didn't notice

Real question is are warts worth it compared to everything else?
For anyone wondering, I’ll do some more math. The main competitor to wart is wheat, so I’ll compare wheat and wart

Wart Price: $15.67
Wheat Price: $25
Per wart harvest, we received 6.34 wart, - 1 for replanting (with double drop)
With wheat, we received 2 per harvest with double drop
2 x 25 = 50 (wheat harvest expected value)
15.67 x 5.34 = 83.678 (wart harvest expected value)

Because wart is harvestable in rows of 3, whereas wheat is harvestable in rows of 4, we will adjust for farming speed. So, the final expected value of a wart harvest is $62.76 (1.255x greater than wheat). With these numbers, we can determine that wheat, which can be converted to bread and sold much faster than wart on boosters, is a much better booster drug due to the proximity in expected value of harvest, but wart is better when there isn’t any booster, or the booster is 1.2x

I harvest Netherwart in rows of 4, it is possible at the right angle. I'm sure it's more common to do rows of 3 but thought I should add that.

i do rows of 2 teach me how to do better
If you have your soulsand one block higher than where you walk to harvest you can look towards the rows of 4 and break them at a specific angle. But then you have to go back and pick all the warts up and replant which is a pain in the gluteus maximus.
