If it's not too late, I would like to say that pool noodles are completely cancerous for the pvp meta. They render any fight outside of a closed off room entirely irrelevant, because anyone can just run away by using their knockback 4 stick, and there is no way to effectively chase them. I don't believe this item is a good addition to the game.

On another note, the heat wave was really cancerous for pvp last map as well, with it having the ability to shred armor within seconds, while requiring an extremely low amount of skill to use. Items like these put up a pvp paywall to where you can become extremely hard to kill by simply paying money to the server.

Agree with pool noodles but a bit late now...

With heatwave just kill them before they kill you, easy. They are also rare enough to where people won't bring them to pvp as often. Unlike poolnoodles that are common.

After doing some intensive experiments with my lovely assisstant @NeliDearest, we have discovered that the noodle can move somebody just over 11 blocks in 1 hit.

I agree with this. Allowing anything higher than kb 2 is a bit unhealthy for PvP

Tossing my opinion out there to get dumbed by the normals of these types of threads... Pool Noodles are fine and are intended to help people get away from fights but as normal the typical group wants strict pvp and are going to downvote any new item that is too OP for the way they fight.

This item doesn't give you a pvp advantage; it makes pvp completely irrelevant, as there are no risks of dying whatsoever. Why would I fight someone if they have the ability to run midway through with me having 0 counterplay at all?

How about if there was a timer on the pool noodle. If you were to hit a player then you would have to wait like a minute or two to use the knockback again.

P0six whats next God Apple, Guns, bows, etc. If you want to pvp that badly go somewhere else.
God apples aren't broken because they have a timer, and you can still pvp someone with god apples. Guns are useless, and bows are pretty cancerous in pvp, but people dont really use them. If I were to make another suggestion about broken things, it would be knockback / punch in general, although bows would be useless without punch so I'm not sure how this'd be balanced. You can keep living in fantasy land with your stupid slippery slopes. I only believe things are bad for pvp if they are bad for pvp. In this case, pool noodles are bad for pvp. If you want to argue about whether I'm wrong, then we can, but don't pretend I'm trying to remove all the pvp items to ruin everybody's fun.

On another note, I liked AKA's suggestion to put a timer on pool noodles. This could be a good way to balance them, although I'm unsure whether the owners would be willing to code it.

This isn't a PvP server, so things aren't going to be adjusted to make PvP "more balanced." As Candy mentioned, pool noodles are for people who aren't able or willing to fight. Do you think it's fair if a semi-new or non-PvP player was in prison or wild in P1/P2 armor while you're beating on them in P4 and a Sharp 5? You'd kill them in like 5 hits while they could only do 2 hearts at most to you... To me, that's even more unfair than this. If you have a Speed 2 pot on, you should be able to land a few hits on the other player before they can hit you away.

I dont think this argument makes sense. You should know the majority of people that will use a pool noodle will be people in real gear.
No, p1 vs p4 isnt fair and the point is to get better gear or maybe learning how to kite instead of introducing an OP item to make them feel better without having to actually improve.

Or, just let people learn through mistakes and let them improve kiting if they wanna run away better instead of putting in a knockback 4 stick
Yes, we understand the purpose of pool noodles.. That isnt the issue

And tbh, you should disable voting on suggestion threads since you are pointing out and showing you have an issue with votes while you do the same to others.

Whether or not MCD is a pvp server doesn't change whether we can have good pvp items. If you don't care about making pvp balanced whatsoever, then I guess you're already lost, but I was assuming that we wanted to make pvp fair and also not cancerous, because that would make MCD more fun. We're talking about the PVP meta, as in the gear that will be used in the best sets. The goal shouldn't be to appeal pvp items to the people who have barely even started the server, it should be to make pvp as fun as possible for the players that have played for more than 2 days to get p4. Additionally, bad players aren't even going to have pool noodles if they haven't gotten a set of p4 yet, so your appeal to shit players is internally inconsistent. Also, people with pool noodles can use speed 2 as well. So, the argument that I should just use speed 2 doesn't make sense either, because this still doesn't fix the issue.
