Recently as a helper I've seen new players join the server and try to bribe police, or new players becoming police ASAP and accepting bribes.

I've always seen the rules and not questioned them or considered any changes, but it occurred to me that bribing police would make a good deal of sense.

Considering we are on a drug selling server, what is the problem with a semi-dirty cop? I realize that a cop having farms easily should be against the rules, but If cops could accept bribes, or even if there was a bribing system, it would bring a whole new income to police.

This would allow a renowned police member an easier rank-up process than a cop that isn't popular.

Besides, bribing every cop online would rarely be worth your money, this rule change may not even effect the economy that much, cops would still be allowed to scam as the rules say.

Additionally, bribing police would increase friendliness between druggies and police, I'm constantly seeing 'fuck these pigs' in the chat.

Overall I slightly question this rule, but if a good argument for it is made, I may change my mind. If players may be able to bribe police, it won't effect me that much because I probably wouldn't participate very much, and am not a cop myself.

Just a suggestion, I don't expect this to change many staff member's minds but it makes sense to me.

Well, it sounds good in picture but I don't think it would work out :/
I feel like it wouldn't have that big of impact and wouldn't even be used very often, but still would be a good option and should be allowed.
I definitely feel like to someone who hadn't read the rules, this rule wouldn't make sense.
I can definitely see why a staff member would deny this suggestion though, I just wanted it out for debate.

If it is implemented correctly, I see no problem with a feature like this

This would not work as the core mechanic of the server is selling drugs and avoiding cops. There would be no point in playing when you can just pay off the cops. Where is the challenge?

in a nutshell: abuse would happen hardcore.

Unless a good cop found said dirty cop, and was greatly rewarded, I don't see why anyone would care. even then it could possibly go bad if there were semi dirty cops and rewards for catching them :p

I can't say I agree with this. Cops are supposed to be total moral opposites of the drug dealers. I think there's too much potential for this to be abused. Also, if this were implemented cops would be making money for doing literally nothing. Booster goes up, go on duty, rake in the bribes from players not wanting to get frisked.

No one goes cop because they want to be liked, and I don't see this increasing friendliness. I see cops going on duty and extorting me for money. Doesn't foster very good feelings.

All good opinions, it was just a thought, thanks for the intel.

I feel that this wouldn't work out for the fact that becoming a cop would be pointless for everyone. There would be no incentive to frisk, instead cops would just continuously take bribes from players instead of actually playing as a cop. It gives both druggies and cops no incentive to play as it would make the game far less challenging.
