A Small Upgrade for Cops

As a player with decent experience on the police side of the server, I have long ago realized that the taser is quite a useless tool for cops, but I never really thought to say anything about it, rather I just avoided using it. I also have noticed that cops aren't feared enough by players, or at least players that know what they are doing. If I had to guess, the average active cop probably makes around a quarter of what the average active druggy makes. An upgrade to the taser is simple and could really help cops just the right amount, and there are many ways it could be done. Please consider upgrading the taser in at least one of these ways, so that it can be more useful, and cops can be more feared

  • More ammunition loaded at once
  • Faster firing
  • Slowness II instead of Slowness
  • Longer glowing
  • No slowness given for carrying
  • Better accuracy
  • Less expensive ammo
Thanks for reading

Wait cops actually use the taser? I've been a cop the entire map and have not once used the taser.

Also I agree it should be the ammo be made cheaper. Everything else is pretty meh besides the slowness effect. And the slowness 2 idea is pretty op for a cop to have, we aren't meant to be able to catch everyone that's why cops need to be smarter and outthink them druggos.

I have ~1 hour of experience as police on a different map, and I can say that Tim is correct about every thought that enters his brain. big brain.

fr tho the less expensive ammo is a given, better accuracy why not, let them load as much ammo as they want, slowness 2 is good, longer glowing is whatever, however tasers dont fire that fast, idk how fast this one is, but they don't fire very fast irl.

And honestly if you don't want to upgrade the taser remove it entirely, because all of Tim's suggested improvements would make it POTENTIALLY usable in the hands of someone that is skilled enough to use it.

It isn't game breaking to have a usable taser, I am assuming you even bothered to make the taser and put its ammunition in the cop shop just so it can be used in the first place.

A usable weapon does not mean every cop will be able to aim or land the right hit at the right time to close the distance between himself and a druggie, but it adds a layer of complexity to the cop and druggie chase that would be beneficial to both cops and druggies. Drug mules will have to use smart methods and routes, cops will have to manage money better to keep their taser always loaded, even practice and locating vantage points for maximal results. All in all, upgrading the taser would make the chase more fun and dynamic.

I've made some small adjustments to it - faster projectile speed, no bullet spread (completely accurate), and halved the reload time. Let me know if these changes make it any more useful.

I can honestly say it did not help much. When you hit someone with it you might gain up four to five blocks at the most, which isn't very effective in most chases and basically worthless if you miss just once, as you are slowed down when carrying the gun, and missing is costly. If you are not interested in further upgrading the taser I'm sure no cops would miss it if it was gotten rid of. Thanks for your time.

I'd say being able to catch up by five blocks is very useful. The taser was always intended to be short range, we don't want cops to be able to slow people down from afar.
