Cant connect to server

every time i try to join it says "Failed to login: the server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request" does anyone else get this problem?

Yeah, that happens when Minecraft's connect services go down for everybody. You can check which sections of Minecraft's services are working and which are not here: http://xpaw.ru/mcstatus/

Currently, I am also having this problem, and it seems to be due to a Session timed out error, so just wait it out and let Mojang do their thing.

(EDIT) It seems everything is up and working, so you 'shouldn't' still be having this problem.
