cant type in chat

I recently rejoined the server for the first time since the reset and i havent been able to type in chat, I only get the msg "Cannot send message" Plz help?

This must be a client side problem. You can change your settings by going to:

Options -> Multiplayer Settings -> change Chat: to Shown.
