Instead of getting a kits which doesn't really encourage me to want to rank up we should get different drug selling prices for different ranks.

There is a few perks you get when you rank up. You get an increased faction power, which allows you to claim more land. You also get a few more more sethomes, and commands, which you can see a list of all of them at /warp tutorial. Each rank up awards you with a rankup key also.
