    Alright boys hear me out, we all know the server has been crashing players out constantly or freezing everyone for around 5 seconds or so. This is a huge turn off for people trying to pvp, because nobody wants to lose their gear from the current pvp log plugin which just instantly kills you. Theirs plugins out there that spawn a mob in your place after you pvp log that can be killed and drop your gear.
    You might be worried about a way to dupe this, but these type of plugins have been around for years and nobody has found any sort of duping glitch with this. I dont think it would be something that would lag the server either, but I can't be 100% or you're just going to say "you know nothing about how a server runs" and "servers arent meant for 100 players and we are a unique type of server"
    I know that autofarms are one of the main issues, but at the same time I feel like their might be some issues with your current way of hosting as well and should at least look into some other options.
    But like you say, I know nothing about running a server. I'm just trying to give a perspective from many players you might not have seen. Thank you for your time.

    We understand that there is an ongoing performance issue, but sadly this is something that can only be managed and not cured on this current map. We only have the response of "you know nothing about servers" or "servers aren't designed for this use case" when players make patronising suggestions, assume that it's a simple fix and belittle us when we try to explain why what they're saying is fundamentally wrong.

    If changing our PvP Log protection will improve PvP while the server is in it's current state, that's something that we will look into and decide if it's an improvement.

    As for the boosters thread - the 1st case of the boosters resetting was dealt with 24 hours before the second reset. Therefore the entire 1st boosters thread is still relevant. There will be a new thread for players to report their missing boosters once the issue is resolved - which it currently is not. We can only apologize for the delay.

    Why can it not be fixed on current map, and what measures would be taken to make sure it wouldn't happen on the next map as well?

    Except for the dupe that this plugin caused last map.

    Can always look for another plugin version of this that doesn’t have a problem of duping. If not, nobody's gonna try to pvp (or raid!) on here at all with current server issues. People can manage through the server lag, and if this plugin was put in place it would give players enough time to log back in, which is much better off compared to getting killed off.

    There aren't that many plugins. We have plans to improve server performance, but they will have to wait until next map.

    Which is in 3 months. Even if the server wasn’t crashing players constantly, this plugin would be a good add on if you were to test around and find one that causes no issues for the server.
    I think out of those few plugins, there’s likely one or more that doesn’t have a duping problem.

    There is no plugin that would work under the current circumstances of the server. As Spalw said, there are major changes that can't be made mid map. We know what we're doing, we don't need your assistance.

    Alright. So instead, we're gonna wait out 3 months to fix an issue. What exact changes are they, and what harm would they be made if put in mid map? If you know what you are doing, then at least provide an explanation. At this point, a real explanation would be great to not just me, but the entire server that are crashing out because of this.

    You sure do act like you know how to run a server, even though you've proved that you don't. Minecraft was not made to handle the amount of load caused on our server. We have plans to lessen the server load, but again, they can't be implemented mid map. If I was able to announce what our plans were, I would have. The "entire server" is not crashing from these lag spikes.

    You're right, the entire server Isn't. It's only around 5-10 people crashing every 10-15 minutes. That or a larger amount of people freezing for around 10 seconds. And it isn't the same players each time.
    I don't know how to run a server, but I can see that other servers can manage a much larger amount of players, It doesn't take someone with server experience to notice this.
    If you are not able to announce what changes you would make, that kinda implies that you don't have any plans as of now, or you just don't feel comfortable sharing information like that. Some people just want some answers :p not to start something bad.

    Those servers don't have 300 players all on the same server, they're hubs. MCDrugs does, with tons of automatic mob and crop farms going 24/7. You can't use how other servers operate to tell us to imply that we don't know what we're doing. We do have plans for solutions, but don't want to announce them yet as it's still multiple months from the reset.

    I'd name these servers, but that's advertising. some of which are not hubs. and manage 200+ on it
    even the ones that are hubs, some have 200+ on a specific server mate

    Actually before I came to this server around say 2 years back I use to play on faction servers with literally around 600-1000 players on that ONE server at a time with 0 lag and 20tps

    They were likely running a bungeecord network with multiple servers, but pooling the player counts.

    Or, they weren't. There's hundreds of servers dakotaa, and many of which have hundreds of players. Their is a very high chance some of which aren't pooling player counts. I could name a few, but it's advertising.

    I started this thread off by explaining our situation.

    Using other servers as examples is silly. There are no servers (that I'm aware of) that have the same use case as us with comparable size(that is - using one massive world, with many players goal to specifically make the largest things possible that contain blocks/items that cause the most lag on servers along with heavily modded gameplay). You cannot compare two things that are fundamentally different.

    Please feel free to PM me links to servers that you claim are 300+ players that are the same use-case as us and I will look into it and either explain why they're different or maybe we'll learn something new. I'd like to stress, we're only claiming from our knowledge and experience that we're doing the right thing currently, if there are players that are more knowledgeable than us about these specific circumstances then by all means get in contact with us.

    I'm going to lock this thread, because again like I stated in my first response, it has gotten to the point of patronising arguments with no productivity what so ever. If you argue with us as if you don't believe what we're saying - trust me buddy, we would like to have a server that performs well too.

    Our only solution to solve the performance issues at this time would be to do an early reset and redesign - which we we're strongly against. We have plans to improve our efficiency but they require significant downtime and resets on many fronts. Until then we plan on trying to mitigate as much as possible to keep the server enjoyable.
