Lately, a lot of people have been accepted for helper and a lot of people have been promoted into being Trial-Mod and higher staff positions. During the time online, I see about 2 staff members for every 10 players on the server. I just feel like the staff position is not valued much cuz its so widely spread. P.S i dont like staff reading everything I write, so there shouls be less staff so that people can have more privacy. There is just way too many staff per player.

The only staff that can see what you write in all chats are admin and owners.

You also have to understand that due to players coming from different timezone the larger staff team is required as you have to cater to each timezone especially when you factor in school/work. If it wasn't the size it is you'd have 7/8 hours a day with no staff online.

Having more staff is better than being understaffed.

The most populated position at the moment is Helper, however Helper's aren't really Staff, we are more here to relieve some of the burden that the Staff members have. We have no permissions in place to see your messages other than the ones in public chat.

I personally think it is better to have more staff. New players join every day and some have problems that helpers are not able to deal with. Time zones are also super important because the staff have lives and might not be able to be online at certain times. If you have a problem with the admins reading what you say to other players, there is always discord that you can message that player on.

Honestly the more staff the better. If there are more people that are available to deal with situations that require staff, then there is more efficiency through out the server. The point of being staff is not to have some value on the server, and it never was.
  10. When the only replies you get are staff members... I still agree with them though. Its better to be overstaffed than understaffed.

Priorities change and sometimes staff members can't be as active as they would like to be or need to resign all together. If we put a hard limit on the number of mods and admins we have and anyone needs to leave for any amount of time it would be unfair to put that extra workload on the other staff, and unfair to the players who would have to wait longer to have their issues resolved.

To put in my two cents, when looking at mcd chat, you would expect to see more staff members active in chat because of their role in helping players/answering questions, being active, etc. This may be why it seems like staff members outnumber normal players in chat. Same with this post, you see a majority of staff replying because they are the most active when it comes to checking forums daily and helping players out with questions.

Honestly, as it's been said before, having a better staff to player ratio allows for more people to help out with players. Since I first started playing on the server about a 45 days ago, the server has grown by 20k+ players. Granted, these might not all be active users, but that means that we need more staff members to help out, manage, and maintain the server.

In all fairness, there are a lot of staff members, at least 1 to every 10 players when I'm online. So while there may be some credit to your claim, these staff members, whether it be helpers-mods-admins, keep the server running and are nice to have. Nothing is more annoying than having no staff online to help.

P.S. In my opinion, we need more higher staff (mods at the very least) to help out with tickets and whatnot. There can be quite a wait time to receive a response; this can be very frustrating especially when people can't afford to stay online or /afk as they wait for their ticket to be tended to.

There are quite a few staff members, but that's a good thing. If you compare it to a classroom for example, you want a lower student to teacher ratio, so teaching can be more hands-on. The more staff there is, the more thorough they can be, and the more people they can help.

Do you sometimes feel that you perform better if someone doesnt breathe down ur deck 24/7? Thats the point im trying to get at. With a lot of staff members on, it feels like someone is always breathing down ur neck. Feels like someone is always watching. Anyways thats just my opinion. Companies such as Google have started to move away from traditional work places where employers force employees to work and they have been moving towards letting the employees do as they please. They found that the employee efficiency improved. If you compare this to McDrugs, if less staff are watching, maybe people will have new innovative was of doing smtn like instead of taking the redstone path to the drug sellers, they might try to find new ways to get there. If there is not many staff online, other players might help out each other, which helps to build a strong community amongst each other. Currently, whenever someone asks a question, a staff answers them and the conversation is done for example:
Noob Player: Where do I sell drugs?
Staff: Follow redstone path to the trailers and sell to the merchant
    Noob Player: Thx.

If other players responded to the players, the conversations may look smtn like this
Noob Player: Where do i sell drugs?
Regular Player: U can follow the redstone path from spawn to the merchant
Regular Player: But ur better off selling at prison cuz it gives a 30% boost (I never see staff members recommending this stratergy. Only recommended by only regular players)
Noob Player: Can you show me how to get there?
Regular Player: Sure, but pvp is enabled there so make sure u have nothing on ur inventory
    Noob Player: ok
Regular Player: Ask me if u need anymore help :)
    Noob Player: Thx

After this small conversation, these players get accuainted and this means more players will be active in chat talking with eachother instead of staff answering all the questions. Maybe staff should only respond to someone when they use /ticket because by responding straight out because it hinders player interactions. All in all, the staff cannot replace the friends you gain by having a friendly conversation abotu any help you might have with other regular players.

Im sorry, what? Reducing the amount of staff would make people run drugs dfferent? You do realize youre playing Minecraft and not at a job right? Here's how i see it: you dont want staff breathing down your neck, but as soon as there isnt a mod or admin is on people have tickets that they need done, and reducing staff amounts would make the amount of times you see "can someone do my ticket" a day would go up. what situation is worse, more people with problems not being solved or some people thinking staff is "breathing down their neck"? and really, unless youre doing something against the rules, there is no need to even fuss about staff watching people, as they should be
    • + High + High x 2
  18. Limiting the staff would not stop them breathing down your neck as noodle is always watching. Always. As soon as I mentioned him being conquests' bitch, he was on my ass like my uncle. Anyways, its probably a good thing that staff are stalking you.

Another thing to add - While staff may not tell them about other ways of selling, you can learn this as you go along through this server. You just need to ask about it and it'll be answered

And this is why a cat should never have intercourse with a squid (If that is even close to possible)

I agree with the fact that staff responses can sometimes be lackluster, but I think that by having more staff, we can have more people able to give more thorough responses since they aren't trying to help a bunch of people at once. Also, part of being on a server like MCD is that you don't hold someone's hand the whole way through. You figure things out as you go, you talk to other players to figure out how to do things better.

To give a personal example that ties into your example of teaching noobs where to sell their stuff: I started the server by following the path once. I quickly realized that it is shorter and faster to run through the jungle and along the hill. No one told me that, I just used some reasoning to deduce that that is a more efficient path. I also discovered that there are caves/tunnels that take you a longer but more secure route to the sell points.

In addition.... people might need a map or something to find their way around spawn because I guess it's really hard to find the casino and player shops xD

There is a /map command that links an image to the spawn map with every major area.
