What is this thread?:
This thread explains why I personally think we should have a builder team, what it is, how it works, etc.

What is the builder team?:
The builder team would have staff on it and only staff (this is because you obviously do not want random people with building permissions.)
This gives the option for staff members to branch off into the building branch

How would it work?:
There would be a separate world (like creative) for the build team to work on buildings and design certain aspects of spawn.

Why do we need a builder team?:
I think we need a builder team because staff already has a lot to take care of. The team can suggest changes to spawn, wild, lobby's, and other things.

Conclusion:
I know staff already does build and decorate spawn for events and the like. This is only on rare occasions. The team can organize cool events and mini games to make the server more interactive. Of course these events would not be often.

Events are usually organized by admins, hence the reason they rarely happen, and admins do not have time to worry about things like events when they have a lot to take care of as it is.

This idea has a lot of lose ends and is just a suggestion. I would love peoples opinions on this. :)

Yes, the team would consist of the staff team but they would be two different things.

Build team does events and builds stuff and suggests those buildings to admins and owners.
Do mods do that now? No.

I think this is a good idea with some troubleshooting and brainstorming to be done still. Would be interesting to see events or new themed buildings around spawn more often and could easily be built in creative and transferred over to spawn. I would be glad to bring this up in the meeting this weekend or we could have you moved into the meeting to discuss the idea with us if you'd like to get the other staff members view on this.

Mods are invited each year to help build the new map - if we're making an event, and a mod is interested in helping build, it's very likely we'll allow them, as they are already in a position of trust.

In my opinion, we do not really need a build team.

I understand what you are saying. This is less about big scale buildings like new maps and major events like Halloween or Christmas.
My point is leaning more toward what Parch said (the events) The smaller scale events that would be suggested and worked on by this said team.

I agree with Floris on most of this. It's not at all the fault of the current staff that building is an issue, because that isn't their primary goal. Having dedicated builders will make sure that things like the santa's sleigh incident don't happen again. It's just disappointing when things seem guaranteed (like a drugpass challenge) and then aren't taken care of. Plus as others mentioned, having dedicated builders could open up new avenues for fun events or seasonal changes to spawn more often.

I personally don't see the point in going through the effort of formalizing a specific sector/branch of the staff team that's designated to build design. As @Dakotaa already said, any staff member is invited to pretty much every spawn-changing, build-based and general design orientated events and them accepting the invite is doing the exact same job as accepting to be in the Builder Spec-Ops.

There will inevitably be some let downs and bumps in the development of well - everything. The builder team may knead out a lot of those bumps but it definitely wouldn't fully prevent them which is why I don't think it's really worth putting the work in to designing it when it'd be so off hand.

I'm going to reply to this, but some people may have to correct me if I'm wrong about certain things :)

- Feel free to suggest any cool builds or event ideas on the forums, someone will 100% bring up said threads at the meetings and we will talk about them, if I don't personally bring them up or make it to that meeting I'm quite sure someone would,

-Even when making said suggestion threads as I mentioned above you could possibly build a "prototype" or something like that on creative and say the coords to it on your post or show a gif/screenshots of it and how it would work,

-To conclude the events is all about time, and finding an Admin or one of the owners, having said time to one Setup said event, two host the event.

-Dakota has hosted some great events this map between the 3 PVP events, the 2-3 UHC events and Infamous's great trivia night!
And infamous mini hide and seek events spread out throughout the map.

-I wish I could tell you that there is a guarantee to see more events in the near future, but as I said before it's all about time and who has it!

-I truly hope this post explained everything to you, and overall I disagree with the idea of adding a build team, (reasons obviously above)
