Today we are starting a ban on laggy automatic farms. This includes mushroom farms that release a lot of water at once and farms that use unecessary, excessive redstone.

    These farm types include:

    • Automatic mushroom farms that release a lot of water
    [IMG]
    • Automatic pumpkin/melon farms that use block update detectors and constantly set off pistons that aren't necessary (all the pistons go off rapidly)

    • Any farm that uses blocks/entities that cause lag.

Update: The farming of Mooshroom cows is now longer allowed, due to people being unable to control the amount they stack up.

We are enacting this new rule due to the recent lag caused by these massive farms. These designs brought the server down to 5-7 TPS for multiple minutes.

We suggest that you disable your farms is they use these designs, or cause lag when activated. Admins will disable the clocks on their own if your farm is found to cause lag.

would a melon farm that is set on a timer also be not allowed? they don't use block updates.... not much lag to my knowledge

A timer is fine as long as the pistons only go off one time each.

Think this is a good idea since the server has been lagging really bad lately hopefully this sorts out some of that lag.
